Dr. Cynthia Logsdon, RN Associate Chief for Nursing Research

Welcome Dr. M. Cynthia Logsdon Associate Chief for Nursing Research

Please welcome M. Cynthia Logsdon, Doctor of Nursing Science; Women's Health Nurse Practitioner; Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, to UofL Health Care.
 
Dr. Logsdon is a seasoned nurse researcher with an established research program that focuses on women's mental health. She has disseminated results of her work to national and international audiences of interdisciplinary clinicians and researchers, as well as to consumers.
 
Dr. Logsdon will work in collaboration with nursing leaders at ULH to facilitate development of a robust Nursing Research structure that includes conducting nursing research studies and evidence based practice projects to support the complex, comprehensive, and culturally competent nursing care provided by ULH nurses.
 
Dr. Logsdon's initial work will focus on:

  • Strengthening the ULH infrastructure to support nursing research
  • Teaching a series of classes to Research Champions who will share their research skills with nursing units.
  • Facilitating collaborations between ULH nurses and SON faculty for research and evidence based practice projects.
 
This collaboration is fostered to achieve core outcomes in the area of Nursing Research which are essential in obtaining Magnet Certification status.
 
Dr. Logsdon will spend 40 percent of her time at University Hospital. Her office is located near Infection Control in the ACB Basement.
